Community Memorial Health Systems (CMHS) embarked on a transformative endeavor to establish a state-of-the-art Fitness-Wellness Center at 2723 E. Main St., Ventura, CA. This ambitious project, spanning 10,275 square feet of interior improvements, aimed to create a dynamic space dedicated to promoting health, fitness, and well-being. Led by Apex General Contractors, the renovation of the “Video Tyme” suite showcased innovative design elements, cutting-edge facilities, and a commitment to accessibility and functionality.

The CMHS Fitness-Wellness Center project commenced with a comprehensive retrofitting of the building, incorporating new underground and overhead fire sprinkler systems to serve both the first and second-floor areas. This critical infrastructure upgrade ensured compliance with safety standards while laying the foundation for a secure and functional facility.

CMHS Fitness-Wellness Center

The interior remodel of the Fitness-Wellness Center was characterized by a harmonious blend of old-fashioned charm and modern functionality. Apex General Contractors executed meticulous sandblasting of masonry walls, showcasing the timeless beauty of existing brick building features while seamlessly integrating modern building materials. This juxtaposition of old and new created a unique aesthetic that resonated with the center’s mission of holistic health and wellness.

In the strengthening and cardio equipment room, new full-height mirrors and diamond plate panels were installed, enhancing both functionality and aesthetics. Meanwhile, the yoga and stretch exercise room received a makeover with the installation of new ballet bars and wood flooring, creating an inviting space for mindfulness and movement.

The project also prioritized accessibility with the provision of new Men’s and Women’s ADA-compliant restrooms and shower rooms, ensuring that all visitors can comfortably access the facilities. Administrative offices and a check-in reception area were added to streamline operations and enhance the overall visitor experience.
