Kelly Michon

Mr. Michon was born into the construction field in New Orleans to a father who was a licensed electrician. Following his father to the jobsites from the time he was young until he was able to assist him got him an early start in ground up and remodel construction.
After moving to Ventura California at a young age, Kelly decided to complete his education and go to work for Cal-Built Construction. Within three years of starting with this large commercial tenant improvement company he was promoted to a job superintendant. He completed his journeyman training in wood framing, steel studs, T-bar, and custom finish framing. His exceptional skills led him to be a valuable employee for various other contractors throughout Ventura County over the next few years.

He wore his nail bags for over 20years, 6working for others, and 2 years hanging doors for his own company. He then decided to put the wheels of Apex General Contractors in motion, which was in 1985. Apex has now been in business for 29 years, and was incorporated in 1996 as Apex General Contractors, Inc. Mr. Michon holds a State of California Class B General Contractors license, and is also licensed by the EPA in Lead Based Renovation. He continues today with his educaion by taking additional classes in Green Building technologies, Asbestos, and Mold remediation.
Mr. Michon worked with the Santa Paula Hospital for Ventura County after the hospital had been closed for 3 years. Working directly with the Ventura County Medical System and supervising the reopening of the hospital has enriched his skills to include OSHPD and OSHPD Level 3 requirements. The continual restoration and the upgrades required by the medical industry is a very specialized field of construction that he is proud to be involved withon an on-going basis.
Kelly’s leadership skills, field management and ability to get the job done in a timely and professional manner make him the ideal owner and boss for any company.
